A typical ride from Heathrow Airport to central London costs £50–£85 by black cab. In Manchester, the base fare is £3.00 with a rate of approximately £1.80/km. Edinburgh taxis start at £2.20 with rates around £1.90/km. Always check that the driver uses the meter for licensed Hackney carriages.
